Rose Cottage

The living room is cosy and comfy with a sofa and easy chairs, and a well-stocked bookcase.

Rose Cottage (sleeps 2-4, one double, one twin, both with en-suites) is over the old stone bridge from Higher North Mill just up the lane from Quack Cottage. South-facing and slightly elevated it gets plenty of sun.

The large deck gives you long sweeping views over the river and down the valley and there's a picnic bench with sunshade for alfresco dining.

Above the raised banks of the decking is a small lawn, then a steeply-sloping flower and shrub bank behind. It’s fully fencedand ideal for kids and dogs to run around on.

Both rooms have-wood burning stoves, wooden window seats and elm panelling. This is a very warm and cosy cottage.

Rose Cottage has a big, bright, sunny kitchen with dining table and chairs, and a fully-fitted modern kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge-freezer and its own washing machine.

View from the double bedroom over Quack's garden, the stream and the shared lawns

Upstairs are two bedrooms: one double with an en-suite bathroom, and one twin with ensuite shower room.

Above the double bed is a roof window, perfect for romantic moon- and star-gazing; you can sleep under the stars in the cosy comfort of your old Devon stone cottage.

Laura Ashley bedlinen, and a vintage patchwork quilt keeps you extra cosy.

The retro pink ensuite bathroom!

The low window ledges on the upstairs windows make this cottage unsuitable for children under five.

Your own woodshed is opposite the cottage and there's plenty of parking too. The lane becomes a track 'Unsuitable for Vehicles' beyond the cottage and is a great starting point for quiet walks.

There's a bbq and outdoor furniture on the deck.

You're welcome to enjoy the shared lawns by the stream too where there's further seating.
