The 6 Watermill Cottages have
been tastefully converted from the mill building, barns
and labourers’ cottages surrounding our 18thC house.
The cottages are all within a maximum 150 metres distance
of each other, making them ideal for combining to house
larger parties or family gatherings of up to 27 people.
All the cottages are very different but each provides spacious,
comfortable accommodation with modern fitted kitchens and
bathrooms with 2 or 3 bedrooms, baths and showers. All
have their own washing machines and microwaves. Cots and
highchairs
can
be made
available. Freshly ironed bed linen is supplied but please
bring your own towels and tea cloths.
The cottages all have central
heating with electric storage and wall heaters to keep
them warm and cosy throughout the year. All the cottages
except for Buntings have wood-burning stoves. Well-behaved
pets are welcome by arrangement at a cost of £15
each per week. Information files in each cottage contain
leaflets describing the different
walks around the valley and gives guidance to dog
owners on dog friendly walks, beaches and pubs in the area.
Each cottage has its own outside
seating in a garden or patio. There is also a large garden
leading down to the riverside with picnic benches and tables,
and barbecues can be borrowed. There is ample parking space
for cars. Buntings and Crownwheel cottages have living
and bedrooms on the ground floor, making them suitable
for people with restricted mobility. Buntings and
Barleycorn run from Saturday to Saturday and the other
cottages start
and finish on a Friday. Pam offers a
selection of delicious home cooked dishes, using the best
local produce. Order them from the menu in your cottage
and enjoy your day out knowing that your food will be ready
for you to heat-up and serve in the comfort of your own
cottage when you get home in the evening.
