Places to go

The area of the South Hams lies in the Southernmost part of Devon. The coastline is stunning with beautiful beaches and wonderful walking. The countryside is rural, quiet and unspoilt. The quality of life is high with excellent locally produced food available in the pubs, restaurants and speciality shops. Historical towns like Dartmouth, Salcombe, Totnes and Kingsbridge are full of character with hidden lanes, fascinating little shops and galleries.

There’s lots to do in the area. A summary could include: the beaches (choice of 15 within 30 minutes drive, nearly all dog friendly), walking the coast and Dartmoor, boat and ferry trips up the rivers and estuaries, steam trains, Visitor Attractions including Farm Centres, Paignton Zoo, Woodlands Leisure Park, the Eden Project, numerous art and craft galleries, lake and sea fishing, riding, either at the local stables 10 minutes down the road or on the Moor, golf (3 courses close by) and plenty of National Trust Properties.
